Thank You, District 4!

Your contributions to our food drive were overwhelming, and I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated.  Your kindness, compassion and generosity will make a difference in a child’s life.
Thank you for Caring and Sharing.

Are You Ready for Summer?

Summer is upon us, and it brings vacations as well as hurricane season. Here are a few ideas to prepare for both.
  • Review your flood insurance policy.  Our City participates in the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System. Tamarac has a Class 6 rating, which results in a 20% discount for properties within a flood zone.  Please check with your insurance agent to ensure you receive this discount. Tamarac properties that are outside a flood zone are eligible for preferred risk policies. These policies typically cost less than the required insurance for properties in a flood zone.
  • Make a hurricane plan and get supplies before a storm threatens.  Better to have prepared and not needed it, then to not have prepared and required it. There is a wealth of hurricane preparedness information at www.broward.org/hurricane. To start, make sure you have:
    • Flashlights
    • Batteries
    • Water
    • Non-perishable food
    • Medication
    • Pet Supplies
  • Sign up for BSO's free vacation home checks. If you're planning a vacation this summer, you can request free checks of your home while on vacation.  Deputies will drive by unoccupied residences and perform daily perimeter checks.  Contact us at (954) 720-2225 for details.
