The City is launching a new residential assistance program on June 29 to help families impacted by COVID-19.
Eligible applicants must live in Tamarac and be able to verify and document an income hardship resulting from the pandemic. Applicants can receive up to three months of assistance with mortgage, rent and utility payments, not to exceed $5,000. Please note, program funds can’t be applied to federally insured loans like FHA or VA loans.
Funds are awarded as a grant and sent directly to mortgage lenders, landlords and/or utility providers. Applications can be submitted online or at City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Ave., from June 29 through July 6.
Previous applicants of the SHIP Temporary Mortgage, Rent and Utility Payment Assistance Program do not need to reapply. Those who didn't receive funds will automatically be considered for this program.
