The City of Tamarac and the Department of Health are opening a free walk-up COVID-19 testing site tomorrow at the Tamarac Recreation Center, 7501 N. University Dr.

It will be open from 9 am – 4 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, June 17 – 18, of this week and Tuesday through Thursday of next week, June 23 – 25. Call (954) 412-7300 to make an appointment. Appointments are preferred, but not mandatory. Masks and a form of ID are required.

The City congratulates and wants to celebrate its 2020 graduates. Thanks to the pandemic, it might not be the graduation you expected. But this experience has certainly taught you flexibility and perseverance. You’re invited to take graduation photos in front of a Tamarac Fire Rescue engine at one of the fire stations listed below from 2 – 4 pm on Wednesday, June 17, or Wednesday, June 24.

Station 41, 7501 NW 88th Ave.
Station 78, 4801 W. Commercial Blvd.

Tamarac is hosting virtual City Commission Workshops about its fiscal year 2021 budget tomorrow, June 17, and Thursday, June 18. Both meetings start at 9 am and can be watched at www.Tamarac.org/CityCommissionMeetings or on the City of Tamarac Facebook page.

Today the SBA reopened the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and EIDL Advance program portal for small businesses and non-profits experiencing economic impacts due to COVID-19. Learn more at https://bit.ly/SBA-Disaster-Assistance.

The SBA is accepting applications to its federal forgivable loan program, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), through June 30. Read more at https://bit.ly/SBA-PaycheckProtectionProgram.

You can also learn about the PPP by attending a virtual workshop by the Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development.
