The purpose of this program is to help eligible first-time homebuyers purchase homes to be used as their primary residences. The maximum award is $40,000.
Funds may be used toward closing costs and to lower your first mortgage loan amount.
A lottery system will be used, which randomly selects names from the applications submitted during open enrollment. Each applicant whose name is pulled during the lottery will have their application reviewed for eligibility to assure that extremely low, very low, low and moderate-income families are served.
Those who are eligible will be approved and given 45 days to secure a contract. Applicants must be able to qualify for a first mortgage from a lender.
The 2020 open enrollment period will be from 8 am on April 13 through 5 pm on April 24.
