The City of Tamarac's Building Department will reopen its offices to the public for in-person services on Monday, May 24th, utilizing a new Mobile Check In app. Online permitting services will remain available at

Get a head start by exploring our new process in advance. To join the virtual line, guests must be within 1/4 mile of the Tamarac Building Department.

Step 1: Scan this QR code with your smartphone; then follow the prompts to download the “Mobile Check In” app from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.

Step 2:After first-time users download the app, follow the on-screen instructions to set-up your user profile.

Step 3: To join the virtual line, tap the “Mobile Check In” app icon on your smartphone. Select Building Department Tamarac from the listed locations. Then select your user profile and the reason for your visit from the dropdown menu, before checking in.

Step 4: A confirmation text will follow, identifying your place in line and outlining all required safety procedures for your visit.

Step 5: When it’s your turn, a text message will arrive notifying you of your five-minute window to buzz-in at the main entry door, where a staff member will greet you.

Tamarac’s “Mobile Check In” App operates only during business hours.
Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
