Our west side water distribution system will temporarily return to free chlorination of the drinking water from Tuesday, September 22, 2020 through Tuesday, October 13, 2020. This only includes Tamarac’s system, which provides drinking water to all areas west of State Road 7/US 441 and NOT Fort Lauderdale’s system, which serves those parts of Tamarac east of NW 31st Avenue.
These temporary conditions will not cause adverse health effects, but during this period, some individuals may experience a slight change in taste or odor in the tap water.
This preventive procedure is a routine part of water distribution system maintenance. Click the link below for frequently asked questions or, for more information, contact the Water Treatment Plant at (954) 597-3775.
