As a reminder, the City will reopen the fitness center at the Caporella Aquatic Complex tomorrow, May 29. The hours of operation will be 6 am – 7 pm, Mondays – Fridays, and 7:30 am – 6 pm on Saturdays. The fitness center will close from 2 – 3 pm each day for an electrostatic sanitization and mid-day cleaning. The maximum participant capacity will be 15 people and guidelines on social distancing and face coverings must be followed. The pool at the Aquatic Complex remains closed to the public, although the TS Aquatics swim team has resumed practices.

The Gary B Jones Park for People and Pups, which first reopened to Tamarac residents only, is now open to all. Guidelines for social distancing and face coverings must be followed.

Upcoming Feeding South Florida food distribution events in Tamarac include:

• Saturday, May 30, 8 – 11 am. Korean United Methodist Church, 6501 W. Commercial Blvd.
• Wednesday, June 3, 9 – 11 am. Christian Life Center, 2699 W. Commercial Blvd.
• Saturday, June 6, 8 – 11 am. Korean United Methodist Church, 6501 W. Commercial Blvd.
• Monday, June 8, 9 – 11 am. Community Christian Church, 10001 W. Commercial Blvd.

While City Hall remains closed to the public, Tamarac is hosting virtual public meetings for those that cannot be postponed. Visit for a list of upcoming meetings. Links are provided for you to view agendas, sign-up for public participation and watch the meetings.

During these uncertain times, many people have concerns about seeking necessary medical treatment for non-COVID-19 related conditions. Delaying care can be dangerous. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Healthcare providers and hospitals are implementing procedures to ensure patient safety. Contact your doctor or healthcare provider if you need care.

CareerSource Broward is reopening its career centers on Monday, June 1. To promote social distancing, it will continue offering online virtual services and encourages people to schedule appointments. Career Centers will open from 8 am – 5 pm, Mondays – Fridays.
