Notice of City Commission Vacancy

The City of Tamarac is seeking to fill one Commission vacancy subsequent to the suspension of the Mayor by Executive Order of the Governor (Order 14-14). At their January 21, 2014 special meeting, the City Commission appointed the District 4 City Commissioner to serve in the legally temporary capacity of Mayor, thereby creating a legally temporary vacancy in City Commission Seat 4.

The individual appointed to the District 4 seat will serve until the Mayor is either returned to office by the Governor or until November 2014, whichever is sooner.

Applications may be downloaded below and are available in the Office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The deadline to submit applications to the City Clerk’s Office shall be no later than 12 noon on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, Florida 33321.

In accordance with Section 4.02 of the City Charter, all applicants shall be duly qualified electors of the City and must reside in District 4 of the City of Tamarac.

Interviews will be conducted for the District 4 Commission seat beginning Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 9 a.m. in Conference Room 105, Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, Florida 33321.
