Accreditation

Designation & Evidence of Commitment

The Tamarac Parks and Recreation Department is an officially accredited agency. This designation is awarded by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). The national accreditation process requires park and recreation agencies to respond to 151 standards, which represent elements of effective and efficient parks and recreation operations. In order to be accredited, agencies must meet all fundamental standards, plus 85% of the other standards. The Tamarac Parks and Recreation Department upon their Re-Accreditation efforts in 2015 met 100% of the standards.

National accreditation is evidence of the department's commitment to excellence. It proves compliance with a body of standards deemed essential to the quality of services delivered, the professionalism of its operational system, and of having accomplished the best management practices.
