It is my honor to serve as your Mayor, and I would like to take this opportunity to share my passion for our wonderful community! Originally founded in 1963, Tamarac began as a retirement community. While our seniors remain an important part of our City, Tamarac’s demographics are changing. Our City is steadily becoming younger and more diverse. Our current population consists of juniors, seniors, and in-betweeners; therefore, our programs and services offer something for everyone.

The success of my administration has been built by our ability to develop strong partnerships. Along with the members of the City Commission and City staff, I have worked hard to build Team Tamarac. Our efforts are reinforced by working with the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce, our local Kiwanis Club, and my personal initiative- the new, faith-based Leadership Council. These groups, and others like them, comprise the key to our success. This successful collaboration will play a crucial role in Tamarac’s ability to “ride out” the current economic challenges we are all enduring. Because of our combined commitment, Tamarac will emerge from this a better and stronger community.

It is my promise to you that we will continue to work together to move the City forward. We will maintain our efforts to enhance the quality of life that Tamarac has been known for since 1963. We will continue our ‘greening’ efforts, and will continue to bring the arts and culture to our residents.

Greetings from City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller

On behalf of the City Commission and all City employees, I would like to welcome you to the City of Tamarac. Use this website to become familiar with the City and our many programs and services - I am confident you will be happy with what we have to offer.

Tamarac is a diverse community of approximately 60,000 people. Our residents come from every corner of the world, and our community is enriched by this diversity. Our nationally recognized schools and senior programs serve as magnets for people around the country who want the best for themselves and their families. I am proud to say that we provide programs and services for every member of our community, regardless of age, race, or interest, thus making Tamarac "The City for Your Life."

Our recreational offerings are also outstanding. The City has eight parks - including our nationally recognized Community Center - and many other facilities and programs designed to meet the needs of all your family members. Look for events in the City's quarterly magazine, the Tam-A-Gram, which includes the Discovery Section that features our Parks & Recreation Departments programs and events.

So, explore the website and find out more about our City. I encourage you to get involved in the community by joining neighborhood organizations, clubs, service groups, and school associations. I would also recommend that you get involved by attending Commission meetings and workshops or perhaps by joining one of the City's many advisory boards and committees. One of the greatest assets Tamarac has is the active participation of our residents - I hope to see you out in the community soon!
