Dynamic Organizational Culture
The City of Tamarac will create and sustain a culture conducive to development and retention of skilled employees.
Background:
Talented, well-trained employees will continue to play an important role in providing the best services to the citizens of Tamarac. We are "Committed to Excellence...Always." Recruiting and retaining employees is a primary concern in today's labor market. Like every employer in our area, Tamarac has lost employees who have relocated outside of the county or state due to housing costs, while others have simply retired. Trends indicate that all employers will face labor shortages in the future.
Unlike the employee of today, who comes to a position with a certain skill set, the employees of tomorrow will be trained in the skills and competencies needed to fulfill job requirements after they begin work. Teamwork will be integral - employees will collaborate with each other to find solutions to workforce issues and they wil be empowered to implement those solutions. In order to continue to provide high levels of service in a cost effective manner, workforce planning is crucial.
