Being high performance requires a planned approach to the delivery of our programs and services. This planning ensures that resources are used widely to meet the needs of all of our stakeholders, including Tamarac residents, businesses and employees. Our commitment to high performance involves the creation of a strategic plan to guide and sustain the City.
Tamarac's strategic plan is built upon our vision statement, which was created with input from our Commission, citizens and employees. Whereas the vision statement ultimately reflects where we want Tamarac to be over the long-term (10-30 years); the strategic plan focuses on the short-term actions (1-3 years) we will take to accomplish the vision.
...and Where We're Going
The strategic plan contains five goals that provide direction as we develop programs and services to meet the needs of our ever-changing community. Following the creation of the strategic plan, each department creates a business plan that outlines the specific steps to be taken to implement the plan. Performance measures are then tied to these actions to measure their progress and ensure that all efforts remain focused on Tamarac's vision for the future. In this way, the strategic plan provides a direct link between the vision and mission of the City and the services and programs we provide.

As you read the Strategic Plan, you will find that each goal contains background information identifying its importance to Tamarac. Also included are a series of strategies the City has committed to accomplishing in furtherance of the strategic plan and our vision for the future.
