The five (5) member City Commission is the legislative and policy-making branch of the City of Tamarac Government.
The City Manager is the chief executive officer of the City of Tamarac Government and directs the functions of City Government.
The City of Tamarac Government is comprised of the following thirteen (13) departments: Building, BSO, City Attorney's Office, City Clerk's Office, City Manager's Office, Community Development, Financial Services, Fire Rescue, Human Resoures, Information Technology, Parks & Recreation and Public Works and Utilities.
The City Commission holds a Workshop Meeting on the Monday prior to each regular Commission Meeting at 9:30 AM in City Hall, Conference Room 105, where agenda items are discussed at length. Regular Commission Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 9:00 AM, or 7:00 PM, respectively, in the City Hall Commission Chambers. Minutes for past meetings are available online as part of the City's public records databases. Audio recordings can be obtained upon completion of a Public Records Request by contacting the City Clerk's Office. There may be a fee associated with a Public Records Request.
Florida’s Sunshine Law requires that City meetings be open to the public, to give interested persons an opportunity to observe and participate in the governmental process. Announcement of sunshine meetings is posted online, and in prominent locations at City facilities.

This searchable database includes documents that disclose Commissioner activities related to campaign fundraising for other candidates, charitable contribution fundraising and outside/concurrent employment.
The list of the City of Tamarac registered lobbyists is maintained in this searchable database. The City of Tamarac requires that all lobbyists register, regardless of whether they receive compensation for lobbying.
Interested persons may access an online database that provides details of visitors received by City Commissioners and their staff. The Commission Visitor list is searchable by visitor name, date, and/or subject matter.
All documents and other materials generated in connection with the transaction of official business by the City of Tamarac are public records. Members of the public have the right to inspect and obtain copies of public records. There may be a fee associated with a Public Records Request. The City of Tamarac’s Purchasing Division contracts for more than $30 million in goods, services and construction each year. All notices for Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, Request for Letters of Interest, Request for Quotation and Request for Information being solicited are posted online. The City Commission welcomes your participation in these efforts.
