Employment Application
In order to complete the City of Tamarac's Online Employment Application Form, you will need to have Adobe Reader (Version 10.0 or above) installed on your computer. The application is in PDF format and will not allow you to save data typed into the form. You will, however, be able to print a copy for your records (this is suggested).

It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer as your browser to complete the Online Employment Application Form.  Using Google Chrome or other browsers may not allow you to submit the form by email.

Once you have completed the required information, please use the "Submit by Email" button found on the upper right-hand corner of the first page. Be sure to check that all fields are complete and in the correct format or your application will not go through and an error message will appear.

Firefighter/Paramedic Employment Application

Firefighter/Paramedic applicants may apply online by completing the City of Tamarac's Online Employment Application Form, you will need to have Adobe Reader (Version 10.0 or above) installed on your computer. The application is in PDF format and will not allow you to save data typed into the form. You will, however, be able to print a copy for your records (this is highly recommended).

Once you have completed the required information, please use the "Submit by Email" button found on the upper right-hand corner of the first page of the application. Be sure to check that all fields are complete and in the correct format or your application will not go through and an error message will appear. 


Using a tablet or mobile device is not recommended for completing the online application form. 

In addition to the application, the following documentation must also be submitted:

  • Copy of Firefighter Certification
  • Copy of Paramedic Certification
  • Copy of BLS for Health Care Provider and ACLS Certification (provided by the American Heart Association or equivalent agency)
  • Copy of the Physical Ability Card (Must have successfully completed, on or since January 1, 2016: the Candidate Physical Ability Test© (CPAT), or the Broward Fire Academy County Wide Physical Ability Test (BFA), or the Coral Springs Physical Ability Test (CS), or the Treasure Coast Physical Agility Test (TC-PAT), or a physical ability test of equivalent standards to be determined by the City of Tamarac.
  • Copy of EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) Certificate
  • Notarized Smoking Policy
  • Notarized Certificate of Emergency Vehicle Operations Compliance
  • Copies of any other related certifications that you would like to have considered
