MISSION:

Median Beautification

To maintain and enhance landscaping in public rights-of-way and medians owned by the City of Tamarac.




PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:


The Landscaping Division is responsible for preserving and maintaining the aesthetic quality of medians, trees, and irrigation systems. Additional responsibilities include mowing, trimming, and litter control. This Division is constantly exploring new and creative ways to enhance the beautification of public areas utilizing environmentally sound, pleasing, and safety-conscious designs. These services are provided by working in collaboration with other City Departments, governmental agencies, and various private contractors and vendors.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:


The goals of the Landscape Division for the Fiscal Year 2007 include completing at least two in-house landscape improvement projects and at least one irrigation system upgrade at various locations throughout the City rights-of-way. Additionally, the Landscaping Division will strive to ensure that roadway medians are maintained in a timely fashion including the newly beautified roadways completed in Phase IV-B of the Seven Year Comprehensive Street Improvement Program.
