Summer Camp Program Aides Needed

Do you have a teen between the ages of 14 and 17 years old who loves to work with kids and who needs community service hours for high school? If the answer is “YES”, then the Parks and Recreation Department has a program designed just for them. The City of Tamarac Program Aide program is an unpaid volunteer program that will afford your teen the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the workforce while accumulating service hours for school. Please view the Program Aide Annoucement, and if interested, complete and submit the Program Aide Application.

Tamarac Parks and Recreation Wins Prestigious Agency Excellence Award

The Tamarac Parks and Recreation Department has been selected as the 2008 Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) Agency Excellence Award winner. This is a very prestigious honor as only one agency is selected from our population category (35,000-75,000) throughout the entire State. Staff will receive the award at the FRPA Annual Conference in Orlando this week. All staff should be very proud! Their hard work and effort to make the Tamarac Parks and Recreation Department one of the best in the State has secured this award for the department. Congratulations!
