Hurricane Dangers
The hurricane season extends from June 1 - November 30 each year. Situated in South Florida, Tamarac is susceptable to tropical storms, including hurricanes. Although not prone to storm surge, since we are located inland, we are likely to experience hurricane force winds, heavy rains and localized flooding. These conditions may result in downed power and communication lines and damage from windborne debris and structural damage to residential and commercial properties.
All residents and business owners are encouraged to make and practice hurricane preparedness plans. Tamarac is not in an evacuation zone so residents should prepare to remain in their homes or get together with friends/relatives during the storm.
