2003 Extrication Competition
Another exciting event has come and gone here in Tamarac. The 2003 Extrication Competition started early on Saturday morning, October 18, with Tamarac Fire Rescue opening the competition, followed by Sunrise Fire Rescue.
From the word go, it was going to be a great competition. The best teams in Broward were here and the competion was tough!
All eleven Teams were here to compete, and with them came approximatly 1500 people to watch the event.
This Year's Top three:
1. PEMBROKE PINES
2. DAVIE
3. POMPANO BEACH Team 1
The day's events were highlighted by the arrival of Air Rescue 85 which landed directly behind our Event location. As Pompano Beach concluded their scenario, the United States Coast Guard, Unit C-65 from Miami's Air Station, honored the event with a few fly-bys.
Tamarac, for a third year in a row, enjoyed great succes. Special thanks go to all who participated.

Westway Towing for their continued support of our programs, specifically our Extrictaion Competition. Their generous support over the years has been a major factor in the success of our competition events. This is especially true when it comes to our annual Open House. Thank you again for your support over the years.

Division Chief Dave Sweet:
His support of our Competition is greatly appreciated by everyone involved. Without Division Chief Sweet this Competition would not have gone as smoothly as it did.
TAMARAC PUBLIC WORKS:
"Excellence in Service" is the City Motto, and their efforts and hard work are the perfect example of what "Excellence in Service" means.
Starting the Wednesday prior to the event, Tom Vreeland and his crew were already hard at work and remained so until Monday when everything was reset and safe again.
Lt. Steve Stillwell:
His hard work and dedication was a great example of how to make it happen. Thank You Lt. Stillwell.
