The mission of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Division is to provide the City with accurate, concise and timely internal and external financial information by recording and reporting the City's revenues and expenditures in order to be consistent with current governmental accounting standards, policies, Florida statutes and City ordinances.
The Finance Accounting and Financial Reporting Division has received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for seventeen consecutive years.
The Accounting and Financial Reporting Division provides the City with accurate and timely financial serviceswhich include: governmental accounting, preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), cash disbursements, payroll processing, investments, fixed assets reporting, grant accounting, accounts receivable billing, and financial information consistent with governmental accounting standards.
The Accounting and Financial Reporting Division received a certificate of recognition from Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) for the early implementation of the new financial reporting model in accordance with GASB Statement 34. This achievement is a testament to professional leadership, initiative and commitment to improving public accountability.
