NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION PROGRAM (NSP)
The United States Government in an attempt to assist banks with the disposition of their foreclosures and to assist with the stabilization of communities has appropriated the City of Tamarac over $4 million for housing assistance, through the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). Essentially, cities, counties and states across America received funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to purchase bank owned foreclosures and place home buyers in these properties.
