CODE COMPLIANCE DIVISION
The Code Compliance Division is charged with ensuring compliance with the City of Tamarac’s Code of Ordinances. Compliance is achieved through communication with and education of our residents and business owners. We do this by investigation of complaints, generally within 24 hours of receipt; and by proactive enforcement of geographically zoned areas. [Zone Map]
If the need arises, the process progresses to an administrative hearing before the Special Magistrate where fines may be imposed to further encourage compliance. Keep in mind that our goal is to achieve voluntary compliance, and our fines are not meant to be punitive. That is why we will send staff representatives to speak at your various H.O.A. and community organizations to provide education into the compliance process and frequent issues to look out for. The neighborhood beautification code is intended to provide guidelines to ensure the preservation of the community’s visual integrity, as well as ensure that every property is maintained in accordance with the community standards.
