Tamarac, Florida...
Your Address for Business Success
Tamarac is located in the center of the dynamic Broward County, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Tri-County market, with a year 2005 population of 5.5 million and $27.6 billion in taxable sales volume in Broward County alone. The City occupies twelve square miles in central Broward and is within easy driving distance of three (3) international airports providing air service to major markets in the U.S. and abroad, including Miami International, which is a major gateway to South America. In close proximity to each airport is a major seaport with up-to-date container facilities. Train service, both passenger and freight, is provided by Tri Rail, Amtrak, and CSX. No other area in the nation offers TRANSPORT, a unique combination of superhighways, railways, airways, and waterways. Tamarac is less than 15 minutes from this complex. |
Thriving Business Park
Bordering on the Everglades with access from the Sawgrass Expressway is the 500-acre Tamarac Commerce Park, zoned for light industrial usage. Within this park is Westpoint, a mixed-use business project with a pre-developed master plan that calls for a 150-room hotel, office and retail sites, and 26 acres of lakes. City Furniture, on of Floridas largest furniture distribution firms, has invested $45 million here in a one-million-square-foot corporate headquarters and regional distribution center. The park has a growing list of blue chip neighbors including Arch Aluminum and Glass, L.C., Aurafin, Covergys, Sonnys Enterprises, Inc., Interplex Sunbelt Inc., Culligan Water and Zephryhills Water, which expands the list of Major Employers located in Tamarac. |
Reduced Red Tape
Tamaracs approach to working with its business partners is very different from many economic development programs. Their philosophy is really quite simple: provide access to honest, fair and open governmentstraight talk - with an objective to facilitate the planning and permitting process in a manner that provides a win-win opportunity for the City and good business.

An Expanding Retail Market
Tamarac offers an exciting retail environment. Forty-three Shopping Centers, many of them located along major thoroughfares running the width and length of the County, make Tamarac easily accessable to surrounding communities. The restaurant industry, represented by the Golden Corral restaurant and Cheddar's is enjoying a booming business, and the City is actively recruiting more to meet the increasing demand. |
