The Application Process
The City of Tamarac accepts online applications through the City’s new online application system called NeoGov that works in conjunction with Governmentjobs.com. To be considered for a position, the applicant must complete all sections of the online application. Generally, postings will remain open until filled or until sufficient number of applications are received. However, it is advantageous to apply prior to the First Review Date.
The city does not accept unsolicited resumes, but you do have the option of the online application system alerting you the next time a position becomes available. Go to Job Alerts.
Once there you be instructed to input your contact information and select which job category notification you would like to receive via email.
Completing the Application
If this is the first time you are using the NeoGov (governmentjobs.com) online application system, you will need to create you will need to create a free account and select a Username and Password. Applying online requires you to register your account to your personal email address. If you do not have an email address, you may create one for free with any email provider such as Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail. (The City does not endorse any specific email providers.). It is important to note that NEOGOV user accounts are only to be used by one person. Do not share your account with another person and do not use another person’s email address to sign up.
If you have already created a NEOGOV or governmentjobs.com account with another agency, you do not have to create a new account with us. The Username, Password, and save Profile will work with our new system. It is important that all sections of the application are filled out completely and accurately. If a section on the application does not apply, please indicate n/a. False, misleading, incomplete or omitted information will result in disqualification from the application process. Unless specifically requested in the job announcement, proof of education is not required to be submitted along with the application. However, all educational attainment, licenses, and certifications must be accurately documented on the application and are subject to verification.
In accordance with F.S. 295, eligible veterans and their spouses shall be given preference in the appointment and retention of employment. Eligible applicants must complete the Veterans' Preference section of the application at the time it's submitted, and include a copy of their DD214 (separation papers) or military discharge papers listing military status, dates of service and character of discharge AND documentation certifying service connected disability.
