Tamarac Transportation

A modified route system has been created with a minimum fee increase. The modified route system will include one (1) bus that will serve the eastern and a portion of central Tamarac on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (RED route) and the western and remaining portion of central Tamarac on Tuesdays and Thursdays (YELLOW route). To assist in the funding of the modified route the fee to ride will increase from $.25 to $.50 per one way trip.

This new route has been approved by the City Commission upon their adoption of the Fiscal Year 2008 City Budget.

Please click here view the map and timetables for the red and yellow route.

A bus fare of $ .50 per trip will be collected every time you board, including when transferring from one route to another. Riders making the connection with Broward County Transit are expected to pay the appropriate fares. Drivers are permitted to collect exact change fares only. No pennies, please. Drivers can not make change, issue transfers, or accept Broward County Transit passes.

Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Buses operate as close to schedule as possible, although traffic conditions may cause the bus to arrive slightly early or late. Please allow yourself enough time when traveling. There is no service when under a hurricane warning.

Holiday Schedule

There is no service on Saturday, Sunday, or the following holidays observed by the City of Tamarac: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The Tamarac Transit Community Bus Service provides connections to BCT Routes 2, 11, 18, 31, 55, 57, 62 and 88 (get BCT information by clicking the link at the top of this page), and the City of Lauderhill Route 4 community bus.

TAMARAC EXPRESS

Tamarac Express will not run during the summer months. Please check back in the fall for additional information on this service.

Tamarac Paratransit

Tamarac Paratransit maximizes independence and provides access to a full range of activites: medical appointments, grocery shopping, social services, meal programs, the Tamarac Community Center, pharmacies and local banks.

The Program is available to seniors with no other means of transportation or to persons who are unable to use the existing City of Tamarac Transit system. Service provides special curb-to-curb service for qualified passengers living in the City of Tamarac.

Our goal is to provide a special system of transportation to enhance quality of life and promote independence for disabled persons and/or those 60 years of age or older.
